Research Interests

Study of the reception of Jan Hus and Husitism in 19th and 20th century musical culture; the musical form of old Czech national traditions (e.g. the tradition of St Wenceslaus, Charles IV in music, J. A. Comenius and his reception in music, Slavonic reciprocity, and the anthem ‘Kde domov můj’); the musical life of Viennese Czechs and Slavonics in the 19th and 20th centuries; the common music history of the Czechs and the Lusatians; and musical migration.
