Digital humanities
Lying at the intersection of the humanities and engineering, digital humanities is one of the fastest growing disciplines in historiography. Due attention is also paid to them at the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the CAS, which has extensive archival holdings and collections, led by the correspondence of Czechoslovak presidents Masaryk and Beneš or prominent scientists across disciplines. Database processing of Masaryk's correspondence or the correspondence legacy of Alois Musil and reconstruction of their correspondence networks are among our research priorities. The use of these methods in research on the musical culture of the Czech Middle Ages is quite revelatory.
