Transformation of state and society in economic and social perspective
The focus of the research is to capture the dynamics and developmental (dis)continuities of socio-economic transformations of the state and society in the Czech lands in the context of broader international developments. From the perspective of economic and social history, the group's professional interests are devoted both to the reflection of contemporary thinking and social practice in the 19th and 20th centuries. The emphasis will be on economic, cultural, national and gender phenomena and their transformations in relation to forms of power and governance. Specific topics explored include expert cultures, gender, migration, the welfare state, new studies of capitalism, and criminality.
