Topic
Czech-German relations
Research on Czech-German relations, especially in terms of the relationship between Czech and German ethnic groups in the Czech lands, is a key topic in modern Czech and Czechoslovak history. At the Masaryk Institute and the Czech Academy of Sciences, this topic has been studied both in the context of the resolution of the Czech-German question through the prism of the Austrian and Czechoslovak states and their representatives (e.g. Edvard Beneš), and through the prism of the many years of attempts to conclude a Czech-German ethnic settlement. The results of this research are presented in source editions on this issue, as well as in conferences, studies, monographs, and didactic materials on the topic intended for teaching in secondary schools.
