Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia 1939–1945
Research on the period of the German occupation and the Second World War at the Masaryk Institute and the Archives of the CAS is far from being limited to traditional political history, but instead, in line with new historiographical trends, focuses on lesser-known aspects of social and cultural development in the years 1939–1945. Innovative research on the history of everyday life revealing the complex interactions between Czech society, the occupation administration, and local authorities and institutions is an integral part of this work.
